Ronaldinho gets one match ban

Ronaldinho gets one match ban

The Real Federación Española de Fútbol (RFEF) has issued a one match suspension on Ronaldinho after deciding that the incident involving the Brazilian and Getafe’s Belenguer was not an act of aggression.

The Comité de Competición has accepted the allegations presented by the club, in which a request was made for the committee to consider the fact that Ronaldinho’s actions were provoked. Ronaldinho was sent off by a straight red card, but only after he had repeatedly suffered a series of violent tackles from the Getafe defender. Having heard the Committee’s verdict, FC Barcelona are discussing the possibility of recurring to the Appeals Committee, which will be meeting on Thursday.

If the one-match ban is confirmed, Ronaldinho will miss the next league match, which is none other than the local derby against RCD Espanyol, although he will be able to play the last match of the season in Tarragona whatever happens.
