Jorquera wants to keep a clean sheet

Jorquera wants to keep a clean sheet

Albert Jorquera looks forwards to the first leg of the cup quarter final against Zaragoza in the Camp Nou with one clear objective: keep a clean sheet. According to the Barça keeper achieving that "would be vital in a cup tie like this".

This Wednesday's game will be the fifth official match of the season for Albert Jorquera. The goalkeeper from Bescanó is well aware that in this Cup quarter final tie Barça will have to play the return match away from home and this is the reason why he states his personal objective not to concede any goal. "Keeping a clean sheet is vital and even more so in a cup tie like this. For me it would be important to fulfil this objective", explains the Barça goalkeeper.

Only three goals conceded
So far Barça's number '25' Albert Jorquera has only conceded three goals in his five starting appearances this season - all have been in the same competition, the Copa del Rey. One against Badalona in the first leg of the fourth round encounter and two against Alavés in the last 16 match at the Camp Nou. In both the return leg of the fourth round and the first leg of the last 16 match Jorquera managed to keep a clean sheet.

"I'd love to win the Cup"

Even though the opposition for Frank Rijkaard's team on Wednesday is the same team that knocked Barça out of last season's cup, Jorquera says that there is no question of being out for 'revenge'. "We are just looking to have a good cup run, it doesn't matter who the opposition are" says the Barça keeper. He went on to explain that on a personal level "the cup is very important to me. It's the competition I get to play in and I want to win it". Nonetheless Jorquera adds, "if I had to choose between winning the Cup or the Champions league, I would choose the latter."

The referee
A lot has been said about the referee of the Barça-Zaragoza on Wednesday. Rodríguez Santiago is the same referee who dismissed Ronaldinho in the second leg of the last year's quarter final clash between the same teams. With regard to this Jorquera says that "I remember very well what happened last season and all I can say is that some times the referees get it wrong".
