Leo Messi:“We don’t have to change our style to win away from home”

Leo Messi believes that if the team maintain the current standard they will soon start winning away from home. He is convinced that there’s no need to modify the way they approach away matches in order to break the recent run of away draws.Messi has already put the game – and his goal - against Rangers out of his mind and is now fully focussed on this weekend’s game against Getafe. He’s hoping Barça can get that elusive away win, and believes it would be a good time to break the jinx: “It would be important to beat Getafe. After this match there’s an international break and it would be important to win before that”. Winning away Although Barça have been far less effective in their away games than in the Camp Nou, Messi doesn’t believe there’s any need to change their approach: “We always play the same way. If we display our quality we can also win away from home”. Just another game Last season, Messi scored one of the greatest goals in the history of the Club against Getafe in the Kings Cup, only to see Barça eliminated in the return leg. However, Messi won’t be looking for revenge: “It’s just another league match and we have to go out there to win as always”. Ronaldinho and Messi Messi was also asked by reporters about Ronaldinho and the rapport between the two players on the pitch: “He’s a very important player for us. We’ve been playing together for a while, we like to combine with short passes but that doesn’t mean I don’t have an understanding with Henry. Henry is scoring goals – and that’s important for him and the team”. Grateful to Eto’o Samuel Eto'o has recently heaped a generous amount of praise on Messi. The Argentine striker modestly told reporters: “I don’t know why he said that. I’m happy to receive praise from a team-mate. Also, we all know what kind of player Samuel is”.
