Eto'o’s operation a success

Samuel Eto'o has undergone surgery on Saturay morning to repair the partial tear of a tendon in right thigh. After the operation, performed by Doctor Ramón Cugat, it was confirmed that the Cameroonian striker would be out for eight weeks.

Doctor Cugat and Doctor Ricard Pruna held a press conference soon after the medical procedure and explained how things went. Pruna, the club's first team doctor, explained that surgery was the best option as "it is more effective as it was a partial tear of a tendon" and that if he had not had the operation then it could have "gradually become a complete break.

Therefore we have elected to push ahead with the surgery". Recovery time Eto'o will have to spend 48 hours in a private hospital, Doctor Cugat said. Afterwards he will have to spend days resting at home without any movement.

"From the fourth week he will be able to move progressively and then nearer the eight week mark he will be ready to return to the squad,” he explained.
